What is Bricks City Designer®?

Bricks City Designer® is a modular building system for micro-scale cities designed to fit on a tabletop. The products are developed under the Open Bricks® brand and include different types of sets for infrastructure, terrain, and building modules.

For the first time, architecture sets can be connected to form one large, continuous city. Bricks City Designer® is more than a product line. It is a system and platform that provides building techniques, bricks, and guidance so anyone can start building right away, even without prior experience.

You can build alone or in groups and create detailed, realistic cities with strong visual depth.

Some sets are also available in selected toy stores and brick specialty retailers. Just ask for Bricks City Designer® or Open Bricks® products.

Bricks are precision-made plastic building blocks that connect securely. They are used to build models ranging from small sets to large, detailed displays.

Besides LEGO®, there are many other brands. This variety gives builders more creative freedom, specialized parts, and more design possibilities.

Bricks City Designer® uses a micro-scale system optimized for tabletop cities. It is also compatible with nanoscale building, but the building modules themselves follow a consistent “City Scale”.

This scale is designed to balance detail and simplicity. It allows small but very detailed city elements like street lights, trees, traffic lights, and other urban features that make the city feel alive.

Before this system, cities in this scale often looked empty and flat, mostly just roads and vehicles. City Scale solves this by adding real depth and detail.

It also lets you build entire city districts on a table without needing large spaces or a big budget.

Yes. Through Open Bricks Studio (www.openbricks.studio), we create fully custom sets.

You can turn your own building or project into a brick model. From about 1,000 units production is possible. Selected products can also be sold in the official shop www.openbricks.shop and in retail stores.

You can also apply for a license to use the Bricks City Designer® brand for your own product releases.

Bricks City Designer® was first introduced at the Nuremberg Toy Fair in 2026. The first sets will be available from July 2026.

The Micro Scale Train System is a motorized train concept currently in development. It uses an extremely small brick scale with a track width of about 8 mm.

The system moves vehicles using a chain with magnetic elements, creating the illusion of real moving trains.

An app is planned that will allow users to control speed, stops at stations, acceleration, and sound effects.

In the future, the system may also support moving cars and ships inside city layouts.

Planned release is 2027.

This means you can:
